Contrasting Opinions
All hell is breaking loose in Houston - There were people protesting at the Astrodome last night, because they don't want the hurricane victims here. People where I work are getting loud and obnoxious about not wanting these "people from the projects" in Houston.
Fortunately, there are others who are volunteering their time and opening their homes to help. One man has 50 people living in his house and is expecting 40 more. They're just lined up on the floor. And a total stranger this man met at the gas station came to his house to help cook for them all.
This is becoming more and more about race. Why haven't we airlifted food to the people still in New Orleans? Why is this all taking so long? Perhaps because 2/3 of New Orleans is black? If they can transport all those National Guard in, why can't they get food in? Why didn't they get it there days ago, before people became desperate and violent?
